You're getting Cranny before anyone else. The app is real, your account is real, and everything you add stays. We just haven't opened it up to everyone yet.
The plan
We're starting in Lucerne.
Before we open Cranny to everyone, we want Lucerne to already feel alive on the map. That's where you come in. Share your favorite spots, the places you'd show a friend visiting for the first time.
Once Lucerne has enough content from real people, we open up. First Switzerland, then further. Your spots will already be there when new users join.
Not in Lucerne? No worries, add spots wherever you are. Every spot helps.
What is Cranny?
A map for places that don't show up on Google Maps.
Think of all the spots you know that never appear in search results. The bench with the view, the rooftop nobody talks about, that meadow outside town. Cranny is for exactly those kinds of places.
You browse spots on the map, save the ones you want to check out, and leave a Trace when you're actually there. A Trace is just a photo or short clip, tied to that spot.

How to install
Takes about two minutes.
Once you get the link by email, here's how to set things up.
iPhone
via TestFlight

Once the link arrives, just tap it. It opens TestFlight — that's Apple's app for testing apps before they hit the App Store.

If you don't have TestFlight yet, you'll be asked to install it first. It's free and from Apple.

Then open the link again and tap 'Start Testing'.

Done. Cranny installs and updates itself automatically from here.

You can go to Settings → Feedback in the app, take a screenshot (TestFlight will offer to send it to us), or just email us at [email protected].
Android
via Google Play

Once the link arrives, just tap it. It takes you straight to the Play Store.

Tap 'Become a tester' to get access before it's public.

Then just download Cranny from the Play Store like any other app.

Updates come through the Play Store automatically.
