Copyright Takedown Policy#

Last updated: 17 April 2026

Cranny respects intellectual property rights and expects users of the Service to do the same. This policy explains how to report content that you believe infringes your copyright, and how we handle such reports.

Reporting infringing content#

If you are a copyright owner (or authorised to act on behalf of one) and you believe that content on Cranny infringes your copyright, you may submit a takedown notice to us by email at [email protected].

To be effective, your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your contact information — your full name, email address, and (optionally) postal address and telephone number
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work — a clear description of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (for example, a link to the original work or a description of it)
  3. Identification of the infringing content — a clear description of the content on Cranny that you claim is infringing, with sufficient information for us to locate it (for example, the URL of the spot or the specific image)
  4. A statement of good faith — a statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or applicable law
  5. A statement of accuracy — a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the copyright owner's behalf
  6. Your signature — a physical or electronic signature

Incomplete notices may not be acted upon. Submitting a false or misleading takedown notice may expose you to legal liability.

What happens after we receive your notice#

Upon receipt of a valid takedown notice, we will:

  1. Review the notice and the identified content
  2. Remove or disable access to the content if we determine the notice is valid
  3. Notify the user who submitted the content that it has been removed

We aim to process valid notices promptly, typically within 14 days.

Counter-notice#

If your content was removed in response to a takedown notice and you believe the removal was in error — for example, because you have the rights to the content or the use is covered by an exception such as fair use — you may submit a counter-notice to [email protected].

Your counter-notice must include:

  1. Your contact information — full name, email address, and postal address
  2. Identification of the removed content — a description of the content that was removed and where it appeared on Cranny before removal
  3. A statement of good faith — a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification
  4. Consent to jurisdiction — a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of a competent court and will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original takedown notice
  5. Your signature — a physical or electronic signature

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will forward it to the original complainant. If no legal action is initiated within 10 business days, we may restore the removed content at our discretion.

Repeat infringers#

We maintain a policy of terminating accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers of intellectual property rights. An account may be suspended or permanently terminated if a user has had content removed following multiple valid takedown notices.
